Coach Costs Reimbursement Policy
Greenwich Tritons is committed to growing a strong, qualified coaching team. To support this, the club reimburses key costs associated with coaching courses, mandatory safeguarding certification, and the annual British Triathlon Federation (BTF) Workforce License, subject to the conditions below.
Prices correct as of July 2026.
1. BTF Foundation Coach Award
The entry-level BTF coaching qualification.

Conditions
- The 20 sessions must be delivered as an active Greenwich Tritons coach, logged and confirmed by the head coach.
- Reimbursement requires a booking confirmation/payment receipt.
- The club will not reimburse re-sit or extension fees arising from failure to complete the course within the standard timeframe.
2. BTF Group Coach Award
Prepares coaches to independently plan, deliver, and evaluate sessions, and to support and oversee other coaches.

Conditions
- The 40 sessions must be delivered as an active Greenwich Tritons coach, logged and confirmed by the head coach.
- Reimbursement requires a booking confirmation/payment receipt.

3. Safeguarding Certification
A valid safeguarding certificate is mandatory for all coaches before they may coach independently.

4. BTF Workforce License
Coaches must hold a valid BTF Workforce License to be insured and sanctioned to coach.

General notes
- The committee reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.
- Reimbursement of higher or other coaching courses not listed above will be assessed case by case at the committee’s discretion.
- DBS checks for paid coaches are not reimbursed by the club; paid coaches are responsible for their own DBS check where relevant.
- All reimbursements are subject to available club funds at the time of the claim.
- This policy does not cover travel, equipment, or any other costs associated with coaching courses.
