Around 20 Tritons met at the Blackheath t-hut on Sunday 21st June for our annual social ride, setting off at 8am on the club’s now familiar 70km loop.

Halfway in, the group hit Eat’N’Mess for the usual cake and coffee stop. The queue was slightly longer than anyone bargained for as other clubs seemed to have elected for the same stopping strategy. Nonetheless it provided a much needed refueling and hydrating opportunity.

With high temperatures throughout, the ride remained no drop, with helpers positioned to support all riders and keep everyone on route. Particular well done to the novice riders for completing the distance and getting up Star Hill.

Many thanks to all those who helped, in particular Louise for organising, and Dom, David and Ian for leading and sweeping the novices.

On 31st May Colfe’s School played host once again to the Greenwich Aquathlon, and this year’s edition was the biggest yet — with record numbers both on the entry list and in Tritons colours.

The event attracted 329 entries in total, 50 more than the previous highest turnout, cementing its status as one of the standout dates on the junior multisport calendar within London. Just as pleasing for the club was the record 51 Tritons who took to the start line across the six age groups, many of them competing in their first-ever multisport event.

The weather created some ideal conditions, and the day showcased the club at its very best, with a strong contingent of junior Tritons making their mark on the podium:

Congratulations to all of them on some brilliant results.

None of it would have been possible without the huge effort behind the scenes. Special thanks go to organisers Juan Carlos and Stephen, whose hard work in the build-up made the event possible, along with the rest of the juniors committee and the many volunteers who gave their time to keep everything running smoothly.

The club’s aim is always to give every junior participant a positive, enjoyable experience and by all accounts, this year’s Aquathlon achieved exactly that. Thank you to everyone who played a part in making it such a memorable day for participants and the whole club.
