The Club’s Annual Middle Distance Championships took us to Rutland, England’s smallest county, for the Vitruvian Triathlon at Rutland Water. The race began with a two‑lap swim in the reservoir, featuring a much‑anticipated “Aussie exit” between laps, all starting at the early hour of 6:30am.
This was followed by a fast if slightly chilly bike around Rutland’s countryside before finishing with a run along the lakeside paths.
Competition out on the course was fierce — not least because this year’s Vitruvian also doubled as the Inter Services Championships.
Notable Triton finishers included:
- Andrew Moulden securing 30th place overall with a superb time of 4 hours 33 minutes.
- Jenni Tomblin impressing with a brilliant finish of 6 hours 1 minute, earning 8th place in her category.
Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you goes to Jenni Tomblin for her efforts in organising another brilliant Club Championships.
