Juniors end of year party 2025

Sunday 7th December brought together 30 of the Junior Tritons and their siblings and parents for the Tritons annual Xmas party and presentation at Herne Hill Velodrome. The usual Sunday morning training session beforehand finished with a race to kick off festivities before everyone went indoors to dry off and enjoy a recap of the year. Head coach Bruno highlighted some of the fantastic successes of our juniors and also welcomed the huge numbers of new members we have had this year.

After enjoying some Christmas food, we headed into the presentations and celebrated the following award winners.

    Junior club champion: Noemi
    Youth club champion: Keira, Yuri
    T3 club champion: Charlotte, Johnny
    T2 club champion: Anastasia, Max
    T1 club champion: Rachel, Johannes
    TriStart club champion: Lucia
Coaches award: Florence, Jacob for their commitment to training

Well done to all the award winners! We also recognised the commitment of our brilliant group of coaches who show up 6 times a week, week in week out for our juniors. Many thanks to Bruno, Ralf, Tina, Ed, Jitin, Rory, Lily, Emer, Izzy, Georgia, Marley. The party was then rounded off with some festive activities including a quiz – well done to the humbly named “Team Trophies” consisting of Rachel, Florence, Aleya, Jacob, Johannes, Sidney, Matthew, Thea, Isadora!

Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all our members and supporters, we look forward to a memorable and successful 2026.

  • Celebration dinner 2025

    Celebration dinner 2025

Greenwich Tritons returned to the iconic Old Brewery at Greenwich for the second year running our Annual Celebration Dinner.

The event shines a spotlight on Tritons’ hard‑earned achievements, from countless training sessions to races across the UK and further afield, celebrating everyone from novice triathletes to experienced age‑groupers.

We crowned our fabulous set of club champions:

    • Kate Fry (Standard Distance)
    • Jenni Tomblin (Middle Distance)
    • Elena Wilson (Long Distance)
    • Andy Moulden (Sprint, Standard AND Middle Distance)
    • Alex Tringham (Long Distance and 10 Mile TT)

Greenwich Tritons President Keith Hunt paid tribute to everyone across the adult and junior sections for all their hard work in contributing to the club success of the club, in particular to our team of coaches.

The night was a huge success and featured a delicious three course dinner. Never shy of a multi discipline event, members finished the night with some lively line dancing.

A special thanks to Louise Roper for leading the organisation of the event. Louise also took the prestigious award of Club Person of the Year voted for by members.

Here’s to even more success in 2026!

  • Middle Distance Championships 2025

    Middle Distance Championships 2025

The Club’s Annual Middle Distance Championships took us to Rutland, England’s smallest county, for the Vitruvian Triathlon at Rutland Water. The race began with a two‑lap swim in the reservoir, featuring a much‑anticipated “Aussie exit” between laps, all starting at the early hour of 6:30am.

This was followed by a fast if slightly chilly bike around Rutland’s countryside before finishing with a run along the lakeside paths.

Competition out on the course was fierce — not least because this year’s Vitruvian also doubled as the Inter Services Championships.

    Notable Triton finishers included:

    • Andrew Moulden securing 30th place overall with a superb time of 4 hours 33 minutes.
    • Jenni Tomblin impressing with a brilliant finish of 6 hours 1 minute, earning 8th place in her category.

Well done to everyone who took part and a huge thank you goes to Jenni Tomblin for her efforts in organising another brilliant Club Championships.

  • Eastbourne Triathlon 2025

    Eastbourne Triathlon 2025

A strong contingent of 19 Tritons turned out at Eastbourne for our annual Standard Distance Championships on Sunday, 8th June 2025.

Following a dreary Saturday, race day delivered much-improved conditions with plenty of sunshine, and the sea proved far less chilly than expected. After successfully navigating the currents, we took on the slightly altered bike course—challenging as ever, with the climb up to Beachy Head remaining a formidable test. The run route, which included a section of the promenade, provided a scenic conclusion to a very well organised event.

Several standout performances deserve recognition. Keith, our chair and club captain, secured victory in his age category with a stellar time of 02:52:17. Simon Burbidge led our men’s field with an impressive 02:29:20, while Kate Fry was our fastest female, finishing in a superb 02:52:04. Congratulations also to Clinton Lowe for finishing second in the Sprint Aquathlon and to Digby Spencer-Lewis for finishing fourth overall and first in his age group category in the Standard Distance Aquathlon.

Well done to everyone who took part! Full results here.

Our next Club Club Championships is at the Ocean Sprint Triathlon Leybourne Lakes, Kent on Sunday 27th July.

  • Junior Aquathlon 2025

    Junior Aquathlon 2025

Sunday 1st June saw a record 279 triathletes compete in Greenwich Triton’s annual Junior Aquathlon. Forming part of the London Junior Series, the event took place at Colfe’s School, Lee.

The competition and temperatures heated up as the day went on with some hugely impressive times and sprint finishes. All junior age groups from Tristart age 8 (50m swim, 500m run) all the way through to Junior 17-19 (400m swim, 4,000m run) were represented.

The event is always popular with junior triathletes and is known for its supportive and inclusive atmosphere. Parents had plenty to keep them happy too with a brilliant BBQ and bake sale, raising funds to help the club continue to provide a great value training and coaching offer to members.

Congratulations to all who took part; we hope to see you again next year! Thanks to all the volunteers for their help in making the event happen and to Colfe’s School for use of their facilities.

Finally, the club wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Howard Kee who organised his last event after four years as race director.
